24 News Update उदयपुर. कांग्रेस पार्टी की वरिष्ठ नेत्री और पूर्व केंद्रीय मंत्री डॉ. गिरिजा व्यास का आज निधन हो गया। वे लंबे समय से इलाजरत थीं और अहमदाबाद के एक निजी अस्पताल में उन्होंने अंतिम सांस ली। प्राप्त जानकारी के अनुसार, डॉ. व्यास गणगौर पूजा के दौरान आग की चपेट में आ गई थीं, जिसमें उनका शरीर लगभग 90 प्रतिशत तक झुलस गया था। गंभीर जलने के साथ ही गिरने के कारण उन्हें ब्रेन हैमरेज भी हो गया था, जिससे उनकी स्थिति और भी नाजुक हो गई थी। लगातार इलाज के बावजूद उनकी हालत में सुधार नहीं हो सका और आज उन्होंने दुनिया को अलविदा कह दिया। डॉ. गिरिजा व्यास कांग्रेस पार्टी की एक प्रभावशाली चेहरा रही हैं। वे पूर्व केंद्रीय मंत्री, राष्ट्रीय महिला आयोग की पूर्व अध्यक्ष, राजस्थान सरकार में मंत्री, तथा कई बार विधायक और सांसद रह चुकी थीं। उनकी छवि एक शिक्षित, सशक्त और विचारशील नेता के रूप में रही है, जिन्होंने महिला सशक्तिकरण, शिक्षा और सामाजिक न्याय जैसे मुद्दों पर हमेशा मुखर होकर काम किया। उनकी स्थिति बेहद गंभीर हो गई थी, जब 31 मार्च को गणगौर पूजा के दौरान आग की चपेट में आकर उन्होंने अपने शरीर का लगभग 90 प्रतिशत हिस्सा जलवा लिया था। इसके बाद उन्हें तुरंत उदयपुर से अहमदाबाद रेफर किया गया था, जहां उन्होंने अपनी जिंदगी की अंतिम सांस ली।

गिरिजा व्यास ने महिलाओं के कल्याण के लिए कई महत्वपूर्ण कदम उठाए। वे राष्ट्रीय महिला आयोग की अध्यक्ष रहीं और महिला सशक्तिकरण के लिए कई योजनाओं की शुरुआत की। उन्होंने 2018 में आखिरी विधानसभा चुनाव उदयपुर शहर सीट से लड़ा था, लेकिन भाजपा के गुलाबचंद कटारिया से हार गई थीं। गिरिजा व्यास का जन्म राजस्थान के राजसमंद जिले के नाथद्वारा में हुआ था। उनके पिता स्वतंत्रता सेनानी थे और मां शिक्षिका थीं। उन्होंने अपनी शिक्षा उदयपुर विश्वविद्यालय और दिल्ली विश्वविद्यालय से की थी।
डॉ. गिरिजा व्यास ने कांग्रेस पार्टी में कई अहम भूमिकाएं निभाईं। वे 1977 से 1984 तक उदयपुर जिला कांग्रेस कमेटी की अध्यक्ष रहीं और फिर 1991 में पहली बार लोकसभा पहुंचीं। इसके बाद वे कई महत्वपूर्ण मंत्रालयों का हिस्सा बनीं और राष्ट्रीय महिला आयोग की अध्यक्ष रहीं। वे 1986 से 1990 तक पर्यटन राज्य मंत्री के रूप में कार्यरत रहीं और राजस्थान प्रदेश कांग्रेस कमेटी की अध्यक्ष भी रहीं। उनका कार्यक्षेत्र केवल राजनीति तक सीमित नहीं था, बल्कि उन्होंने साहित्य और कला में भी अपनी गहरी रुचि दिखाई। वे कवयित्री और लेखिका भी थीं और अखिल भारतीय कांग्रेस कमेटी के मुखपत्र ‘कांग्रेस संदेश’ पत्रिका की मुख्य संपादक रहीं।

डॉ. गिरिजा व्यास का राजनीतिक करियर बहुत ही प्रभावशाली रहा। उन्होंने 1991 में पहली बार लोकसभा चुनाव जीतकर संसद में कदम रखा और 1993 से 1996 तक वे सूचना एवं प्रसारण मंत्रालय में राज्यमंत्री रहीं। 1993 में उन्होंने अखिल भारतीय महिला कांग्रेस की अध्यक्षता की। इसके बाद 11वीं और 13वीं लोकसभा में भी उनका चुनाव हुआ। वे 2005 से 2008 और 2008 से 2011 तक राष्ट्रीय महिला आयोग की अध्यक्ष रहीं। उनके निधन से समूचा राजनीतिक और सामाजिक क्षेत्र शोक में डूब गया है। कांग्रेस पार्टी के राष्ट्रीय, राज्य स्तरीय और स्थानीय नेताओं ने उनके निधन पर गहरा दुख व्यक्त किया है। उनका योगदान राजनीति, समाज सेवा और महिला कल्याण के क्षेत्र में सदैव अमूल्य रहेगा। उनका संघर्ष, समर्पण और सामाजिक न्याय के प्रति उनकी प्रतिबद्धता हमेशा लोगों के दिलों में जीवित रहेगी।
अब परिवार के लोग उनका शव लेकर उदयपुर आ रहे हैं। उनके अंतिम दर्शन और अंतिम संस्कार का समय अब तय किया जाएगा। कांग्रेस पार्टी और उनके समर्थक उन्हें श्रद्धांजलि देने के लिए उनके अंतिम संस्कार में शामिल होंगे।
गिरिजा व्यास ने 1977 से 1984 तक जिला कांग्रेस कमेटी, उदयपुर की जिलाध्यक्ष रहीं, 1985 से 1990 तक राजस्थान में विधायक रहीं, 1986 से 1990 तक पर्यटन राज्य मंत्री का दायित्व निभाया, डॉ. गिरिजा राजस्थान प्रदेश कांग्रेस कमेटी की अध्यक्ष भी रहीं, 1990 से अखिल भारतीय कांग्रेस कमेटी की सदस्य रहीं, 1991 में पहली बार लोकसभा पहुंचीं, 1991 से 1993 तक केंद्र में सूचना एवं प्रसारण राज्यमंत्री रहीं, 1993 में अखिल भारतीय महिला कांग्रेस की अध्यक्ष बनीं, 1996 में 11वीं और 1999 में 13वीं लोकसभा की सदस्य निर्वाचित हुईं, राष्ट्रीय महिला आयोग की दो बार 2005 से 2008 और 2008 से 2011 तक अध्यक्ष रहीं, गिरिजा व्यास कवयित्री और लेखिका भी थीं, अखिल भारतीय कांग्रेस कमेटी के मुखपत्र कांग्रेस संदेश पत्रिका की मुख्य संपादक रहीं।

24 News Update Udaipur. Senior Congress Party leader and former Union Minister Dr. Girija Vyas passed away today. She was undergoing treatment for a long time and breathed her last in a private hospital in Ahmedabad. According to the information received, Dr. Vyas was caught in fire during Gangaur Puja, in which about 90 percent of her body was burnt. Along with severe burns, she also suffered brain hemorrhage due to the fall, which made her condition even more critical. Despite continuous treatment, her condition could not improve and today she said goodbye to the world. Dr. Girija Vyas has been an influential face of the Congress party. She was a former Union Minister, former Chairperson of the National Commission for Women, Minister in the Rajasthan Government, and had been an MLA and MP many times. Her image has been that of an educated, strong and thoughtful leader, who always worked vocally on issues like women empowerment, education and social justice. Her condition became very serious when on March 31, during Gangaur Puja, she got caught in fire and about 90 percent of her body was burnt. After this, she was immediately referred from Udaipur to Ahmedabad, where she breathed her last.

Girija Vyas took many important steps for the welfare of women. She was the chairperson of the National Commission for Women and launched several schemes for women empowerment. She contested the last assembly elections in 2018 from the Udaipur city seat, but lost to BJP’s Gulabchand Kataria. Girija Vyas was born in Nathdwara in Rajasthan’s Rajsamand district. Her father was a freedom fighter and mother was a teacher. She did her education from Udaipur University and Delhi University.

Dr. Girija Vyas played many important roles in the Congress party. She was the president of the Udaipur District Congress Committee from 1977 to 1984 and then reached the Lok Sabha for the first time in 1991. After this, she became a part of many important ministries and was the chairperson of the National Commission for Women. She served as Minister of State for Tourism from 1986 to 1990 and was also the president of the Rajasthan Pradesh Congress Committee. Her field of work was not limited to politics only, but she also showed her keen interest in literature and art. She was also a poet and writer and was the chief editor of the All India Congress Committee’s mouthpiece ‘Congress Sandesh’ magazine.

Dr. Girija Vyas’ political career was very impressive. She entered Parliament for the first time in 1991 by winning the Lok Sabha elections and from 1993 to 1996 she was the Minister of State in the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting. In 1993 she chaired the All India Mahila Congress. After this she was also elected in the 11th and 13th Lok Sabha. She was the President of the National Commission for Women from 2005 to 2008 and 2008 to 2011. Her demise has plunged the entire political and social field into mourning. National, state and local leaders of the Congress Party have expressed deep grief over her demise. Her contribution will always be invaluable in the field of politics, social service and women’s welfare. Her struggle, dedication and commitment towards social justice will always remain alive in the hearts of the people.

Now the family members are coming to Udaipur with her body. The time for his last darshan and funeral will be decided now.
