Jodhpur. The death of well-known Kathavachak Sadhvi Prem Baisa from western Rajasthan has taken a mysterious turn after an alleged suicide-note-like post appeared on her official Instagram account nearly four hours after doctors declared her dead.
According to police sources, Sadhvi Prem Baisa was brought to Preksha Hospital on Pal Road, Jodhpur, around 5:30 pm on Wednesday by her father and a young man in a private car from a Boranada-based ashram. Doctors examined her and declared her dead on arrival.
ACP (West) Chhavi Sharma told the media that the entire sequence of events is under investigation. The Boranada police station is handling the case and all aspects, including medical and digital evidence, are being examined.
Dr. Praveen Jain of Preksha Hospital told the media that despite repeated efforts, there was no response from the body, indicating that death had occurred before reaching the hospital. He further stated that Sadhvi’s father informed doctors she had been suffering from fever and was given an injection, after which her condition suddenly deteriorated and she collapsed.
Dr. Jain said the family was advised to take the body for postmortem and further legal procedures to MDM Hospital or Mahatma Gandhi Hospital. The hospital even offered its ambulance service, but the family declined and insisted on taking the body in their private vehicle.
The case became more complex when a post appeared on Sadhvi Prem Baisa’s Instagram account at around 9:28 pm, while hospital records confirm her death at approximately 5:30 pm. The post contained emotional lines stating that she dedicated every moment of her life to the propagation of Sanatan Dharma and had written letters to Adi Guru Shankaracharya and other saints, requesting an “Agni Pariksha,” but nature had different plans.
The post appears, at first glance, to resemble a suicide note, raising serious questions about who uploaded it and under what circumstances. Police are now investigating the social media activity, phone access, and timeline to determine whether the post was scheduled, uploaded by another person, or part of a larger conspiracy.
The unexplained gap between the time of death and the social media post has made the incident highly suspicious. Police say further clarity will emerge only after medical reports, digital forensics, and witness statements are analyzed.
The sudden demise of Sadhvi Prem Baisa and the puzzling developments surrounding it have sent shockwaves through religious and social circles across Rajasthan.
