24 news update. Jaipur. The Rajasthan Congress has decided to contest the by-elections without forming any alliances. Congress state president Govind Singh Dotasra stated that we are not forming any alliances for the by-elections. We will fight on all seven seats. On Monday, a coordination committee meeting was held in the Congress war room to prepare a panel for all seven assembly seats and discuss the alliance issue. After the meeting, Dotasra told the media, “We are ready for all seven seats. We have finalized candidate panels for all seven seats. We will send different candidate panels for each seat, and that has been discussed.”Dotasra was joined at the meeting by former Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot, Leader of Opposition Tika Ram Julie, in-charge Sukhjinder Randhawa, former assembly speaker CP Joshi, National General Secretary Bhawar Jitendra Singh, and three co-in-charge secretaries. Officials present at the Congress Coordination Committee meeting discussed the alliance and candidates for the seven seats. Neither have we been contacted for an alliance, nor have we reached out Dotasra said, “The Rajasthan Pradesh Congress Committee is finalizing candidate panels for all seven seats and sending them to the high command. If the high command gives any instructions regarding an alliance, we will abide by it, but our stance is to contest on all seven seats.”He added, “Our panels for all seven seats are being taken to the high command by in-charge Randhawa. We will discuss with the high command, and the tickets can be announced any time after that.” When asked about discussions for an alliance with Hanuman Beniwal, Dotasra said:“Neither have we initiated any conversation nor have they. So, the question of an alliance doesn’t arise. As for the India alliance, what Hanuman Beniwal says in Delhi is for Delhi; it’s not applicable here.”Randhawa said – We will fight the elections on our own strength with the panel for all seven seats Congress state in-charge Sukhjinder Singh Randhawa stated, “If anyone has contacted us for an alliance, we will discuss that in Delhi. However, Rajasthan Congress has provided panels for all seven seats. The Rajasthan Congress has decided to contest the elections on its own strength.” After the committee meeting, Dotasra also met with former Chief Minister Gehlot. It has now become clear that Congress will not form an alliance. In the Lok Sabha elections, Congress had formed an alliance with the National Democratic Party (RLP), CPM, and the Bharat Adivasi Party (BAP). They had left the Nagaur seat for RLP and the Sikar seat for CPM. Now, Congress state president has expressed the stance of not forming an alliance with Hanuman Beniwal’s RLP. The Bharat Adivasi Party (BAP) has already fielded candidates for the Salumber and Chaurasi seats. Therefore, the paths for an alliance with them are now closed. Any change in this decision can only come at the high command level. A faction of leaders in Rajasthan Congress is against forming an alliance. Many senior leaders, including Dotasra, are in favor of contesting the elections independently.
